Picture Day

Friday, March 27, 2009

Although I like to reserve myself when it comes to my personal life, I just had to share these... My son's first picture day was last Friday. He goes to a Montessori School near by where they actually take them in from 2yrs and up. He's started attending last summer for summer camp and turned two just in time for the commencement of the school year. Blah, blah, blah... This is him posing for me when he got back from picture day because mom was too excited that morning she forgot to take pictures before he left to school... as a matter of fact I even forgot his lunch box!

A two-year old's recount of what happened in school that day...
because a "yes" to a "did you have fun in school?",
would not have been suffice. I love my kid!

Modern Nursery 2.0

Modern nursery furniture and artwork I found at fawn&forest. The Aerial crib, two wide changing table, and storytime rocker are designed by Lawson-Fenning for nurseryworks. The numbers poster is by Binth and is also available at fawn&forest. My favorite: storytime rocker.

Musical Beginnings

Friday, March 13, 2009

It's never too early to expose your little ones to music. If you live in the NYC metro area there are plently of places that offer music education for infants. The Lucy Moses school at Kaufman Center has several courses throughtout the summer and fall for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Check out their course listings and descriptions here.

Modern Nursery

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

It's really refreshing to see nurseries breaking away from the traditional pink and blue. This fun and colorful bedding is by Skip Hop. In unison with the crib, which is by Oeuf , both provide a very modern and stylish nursery every metropolitan parent dreams of. You can find both items at RightStart.

Designing Moms

Friday, March 6, 2009

Designing Moms is a new blog contributed by Moms and Moms-to-Be's who are designers or creatives to inspire and creatively inform one another and readers. I was pretty excited when Cat Seto asked if I would be a "Designing Mom" for her blog since they are such a cool group of eclectic women. I am looking forward to the great artistic exchanges!

FYI, I got a little personal with my intro which is a rarity for me. Check it out here.

Cupcakes anyone??

Thursday, March 5, 2009

The hubster decided to make dinner and dessert yesterday and boy was my tummy happy!! My ultimate favorite: the hazelnut chocolate chip cupcakes. There are now only three left (pictured here) from the original 12 and by the time I finish posting this I assure you there will be none. These were too delicious not to share even if its just virtually. ; )

CASAKiDS by Roberto Gil

Sunday, March 1, 2009

This here is a line by Argentinean-born Brooklyn based designer/architect Roberto Gil. CASAKiDS furniture collections have a minimalist feel to them and appear very practical. I just love this chair from the Treasure collection! It's all about storage storage storage with toddlers!!
